Inside India’s NMSKCC Mission: Building Climate Knowledge in Jharkhand
Building Climate Resilience Through Knowledge in Jharkhand
National Mission on Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change (NMSKCC)
How do we equip communities to face the climate crisis? By sharing knowledge that empowers action.
As part of India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), the NMSKCC aims to strengthen climate understanding and enable data-driven, community-centered solutions. In Jharkhand, the Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change (DoEFCC) and Asar are working together to bring this mission to life.
Key Impact Highlights:
- Conducted 16+ climate training sessions and workshops
- Reached over 850 participants
- Engaged diverse stakeholders: forest-dependent communities, CSOs, NGOs, farmers, and government officials
This initiative is creating climate-literate communities and fostering locally led adaptation strategies — laying the groundwork for long-term resilience in one of India’s most climate-vulnerable states.
