Saumya is a researcher and development practitioner with 15 years of experience in addressing gender issues through a feminist, intersectional, and intersectoral lens grounded in social justice. She is presently the Head of Research and Programme for the Gender and Climate Change programme at Asar. Saumya has worked across a range of issues and sectors including climate change, public health and nutrition, education, public policy and budgets, fiscal strategies for disadvantaged communities, in the course of her career helping her develop a holistic understanding across multiple issues. She has previously worked with IPE Global and Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability.
A multitasker with a “never give up” attitude, happily juggling the roles and responsibilities of being a mother, a development sector professional, an experimental cook, passionate traveller and a food enthusiast.
