Sanam brings over 14 years of experience working at the intersection of human rights, social justice, and climate action. His efforts have spanned critical issues—from long-standing work with survivors of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence to addressing the rights and safety of Indians stranded in conflict zones, Rohingya refugees, and communities in Kashmir.

In previous leadership roles focused on youth engagement and strategic advocacy, Sanam helped galvanize young voices across the country in pursuit of justice and equity. His work has also extended to supporting farmers in Punjab on climate resilience, highlighting the inextricable links between environmental degradation, livelihoods, and social inequality.

With on-ground and policy experience across South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, Sanam brings a global perspective to local and regional struggles. His bestselling book, The Kaurs of 1984, underscores his deep commitment to confronting historical injustice and elevating marginalized narratives through powerful, purpose-driven storytelling.
