Asar is looking for a Digital Communications Associate to support our digital communications across Asar, the Climate Educators Network (CEN), and the Sustainable Mobility Network (SMN).
This is an execution-focused role for someone with strong foundational skills in social media, website management, and visual content, who is eager to learn and grow in the climate and social impact space.
You will work closely with the Digital Communications team, supporting day-to-day content creation, publishing, design, and digital operations across multiple platforms and themes — including climate education and sustainable mobility.
What You’ll Be Doing
Social Media
- Assist with content creation and publishing on LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
- Help schedule posts, format content, and maintain posting calendars
- Support basic engagement tracking and performance analysis
- Adapt long-form content into social-friendly formats
Website & Content
- Update and maintain WordPress websites (blogs, events, pages, resources)
- Upload blogs, images, and reports while maintaining formatting and consistency
- Support basic SEO hygiene (headings, links, image optimisation)
Design & Visual Content
- Create simple, clean designs using Canva for social media posts, presentations, banners, and basic digital assets
- Adapt and work with existing templates, while also being comfortable designing from scratch when required
- Stay updated on ongoing design trends, social media formats, and platform updates (especially LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) and apply them thoughtfully
- Create short-form video content such as reels, shorts, and simple edits using Canva (or similar tools) for social media
- Support basic visual storytelling through layouts, typography, image selection, and motion
- Ensure visual consistency across Asar, Climate Educators Network (CEN), and Sustainable Mobility Network (SMN) assets
Content Operations
- Help coordinate content requests from teams
- Organise assets, folders, and shared resources
- Support documentation of processes (social posting, website updates, templates)
Who This Role Is For
This role is a good fit if you:
- Have 2–4 years of experience in digital communications, social media, or content roles
- Are comfortable working across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and WordPress
- Have basic but solid design skills using Canva
- Are organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple streams of work
- Are curious and willing to learn about climate, education, mobility, and policy
- Prefer doing, learning, and improving over “big strategy” roles (for now)
Skills & Experience
Required
- 2–4 years of experience in digital communications / social media / content roles
- Strong familiarity with LinkedIn and Instagram
- Working knowledge of WordPress
- Canva design skills (layouts, text-image balance, templates)
- Basic video editing or reel-making skills
- Good written English and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience working in climate, environment, education, or mobility spaces
- Familiarity with analytics tools (LinkedIn, Meta, Google Analytics)
